Day 43 #HappyGoGrateful - Margie Rubin
The day before I left New York City, Margie gave me this small wooden box. Engraved on the corner of the bottom side is a tiny heart. The top side can be slide open, there's a small room just enough to fit a ring. She told me the box was given to her over 20 years ago from a very special person, and that day she passed it on to me.
Inside the box is a small piece of paper, with many colors in the middle, and some writings on the sides:
"Washington Square Park. USA", "Friends Forever", "Margie", "Ali".
I have it next to me as I write this, Margie. I'll guard it with my life, and I'm hoping that one day I can find someone to give it to. It has to be someone with the warmest smile, calming and comforting voice. That person needs to be thoughtful, and has the most beautiful heart. It has to be a person I always look forward to meet.
The best bet to find such person is to wait for a nice outdoor weather, go to Washington Square Park, and hope for you to show up with that beautiful smile.
Love and miss you, Margie.
